The Great Lakes Restoration Initiative is the most important program supporting on-the-ground restoration of our Great Lakes. It has a long record of success cleaning up toxic hot spots, reducing runoff pollution, protecting native fisheries, controlling invasive species, and restoring habitat for fish and other wildlife.
But this essential work is far from complete – and the program’s congressional authorization will expire at the end of September.
The House of Representatives has passed a bill to extend the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. Tell your senators to vote “yes” and continue restoring the Great Lakes.
